The Pocahontas soundtrack features songs by the talented Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, created to support the story and add on to the journey of the characters. This is one of those albums I can listen back to front, songs and instrumentals together, and never get tired of.

Then there are a few songs that were deleted from the original theatrical version but have since been preserved as extras in the 10th Anniversary DVD release. These are:

I love the instrumentals just as much as I love the songs. My personal favourite is Farewell, which is the music from the final farewell between John Smith and Pocahontas. The powerful chorus reprise of Colours of the Wind never fails to give me goosebumps. My second fav would be River’s Edge, which is the music from the scene where Pocahontas and John Smith have their cat-and-mouse game at the waterfalls.

Oh yeah, then there was the sequel. I couldn't really pay attention to most of the songs (forgettable as they were), but there was one gem out of that movie: Where Do I Go From Here. [ lyrics ]
