ARISTA'S BOYFRIEND

Chapter 5

A week passed and Ariel took Arista into town and did what girls do best, shopping. Ariel thought Arista was so funny when she asked what a hat was and she put it on her bottom instead of her head. They spent the day being cool, just loving the sights and having a good time. Later Eric came into town with Damon and they all had lunch together. Ariel and Eric said they had to go and left Damon and Arista alone. The two of them went to the harbor, got in a boat, and went out to sea. When Arista and Damon were out in the middle of the bay Damon stopped rowing and just sat there with Arista.

I always liked coming to this spot in the harbor as a child. Eric and I would sneak out at night and come swimming during the summer. That is where I had my first kiss right over there. He pointed to a spot on the beach where the water just touched the land and it seemed to be blended in as one.

Arista, there is something I have to tell you, he takes her hand and passionately looks deep into her light blue eyes Arista, I like you. Will you be my girlfriend?

Arista, nervous at first looks in his eyes and says, Yes I will be your girlfriend.

As Arista jumps into his arms right as they are about to kiss and the boat falls over. They fall into the water and are soaked to the brim (where have we seen this before). That doesn’t stop Arista though, she swims right over to him and plants a big smooch on him.

She and Damon swim to shore and they walk home. As they say goodbye Arista walks inside and goes to her room with the biggest smile on her face anybody had ever seen.

Ariel walks in a little later and asks Arista how it went. (We have a classic sister moment where Arista and Ariel are giggling like crazy, sitting on the bed, with the hugest smile on their faces.) Arista told Ariel everything, and Ariel said she is so happy for her sister. They talk for the longest time about what Arista will do about him being human and what would father think and all this other stuff, when Eric walks in.

I think it is time for all good sisters to say goodnight, says Eric.

Eric, Arista and Damon are in dating.

Well Damon must be one lucky guy to grab the attention of a beautiful mermaid like Arista.

Arista blushes Thank-you Eric, I have to talk to you a little bit about what he was like when he was little, all the girls he was after.

Eric laughs All right Arista, there is not much to tell though.

Ariel leaves with Eric, and Arista falls asleep on the bed thinking about the new man she has fallen in love with and her home. Will she have to make the hardest decision of her life between her love, and her family? How did Ariel do this she thought?
