ARISTA'S BOYFRIEND

Chapter 6

It was now two months since Arista had come to visit Ariel and Eric. She had come to grow very fond of Damon. Every day she and Damon went on long rides in the forest, and on the beach. Arista felt she could tell Damon anything. She came to forget how Luke hurt her so bad. Arista knew she loved Damon very much, but she still loved the sea to.

After lunch Arista went down to the beach and sat down. She dug into the sand and covered her feet with it. The sand felt so warm on her skin. She layed down on the sand and stared up at the sun. I always looked so different above the surface of the water. Just then Eric came over and sat down next to her.

Oh, hi Eric, I did not see you come up.

Hello Arista, I see you have found my favorite place on the beach. This was where Ariel and I first met after she saved me. I spent many hours here thinking about her. It is a good place to think.

Yes, I know, it is such a peaceful place.

Arista, I know what you have been thinking about when you come here. I follow you here ever morning and watch you think.

Eric, you must not tell anyone about how I feel, you must swear to me, you can’t tell anyone about how I feel about Damon, not even Ariel.

I promise Arista, but before you throw your feelings for him away , I think I should tell you something. I can guarantee you that Damon will follow you home to the sea if you tell him how you feel.

You see, Damon was always like Ariel. We both loved the sea very much, but the difference between me and Damon was that Damon wanted to be apart of the sea. All his life he would always hold on to the sea. He would go read about merpeople in the library, and listen to the stories his uncle used to tell him about sailors seeing beautiful mermaids singing on the rocks. Arista, he will follow you home if you just talk to him.

Oh, Eric, thank-you. She went over and gave him a big hug.

Later that night, Arista went up to her room and sat down at her vanity. She undid her half pony tail and brushed her wavy blond hair. Just then she heard something knock at the window, it happened again. Arista went over to open the window and looked out. There at the bottom, standing on the ground was Damon sitting on his horse with Jesse, right next to him.

Damon, what are you doing down there?

Come on Arista, lets go for a ride.

Damon are you crazy, it’s the middle of the night.

Come on live a little, I need to talk to you.

Fine I’ll be down in a minute.

Arista, proceeded to climb out the window to jump down on Jesse, The landing was smooth, and she fell right on the saddle. Then she and Damon rode off into the night only to stop at the place on the beach where they had shared their first kiss only weeks before.

Arista, there is something, I need to tell you.

Yes, what is it Damon.

Arista I love you, I have loved you from the moment I met you. Now, for as long as I could remember, I have loved the sea. I have always wanted to be apart of it. To explore it, live in it, and love in it. When I heard Eric had married the daughter of the sea king I wished with all of my heart, that my dream of the sea, could come true, and now I finally think it has. Damon then proceeds to get down on one knee and opens a little black box with a pearl ring in it, Arista, will you be my wife? And let me spend all of eternity with you in the depths of the sea.

Oh Damon, yes, yes of course, I will marry you. I was so worried that you would not feel the same way.

I hope you like the ring, Ariel told me merpeople wear pearl rings instead of Diamonds, I hope you like it, I picked it out of the oyster and all.

Damon it is gorgeous.

After that Damon and Arista rode as fast as they could back to the palace. They jumped of the horses, and Arista dragged Damon inside. She pulled him up the stairs and to Ariel and Eric’s room. Once inside the room Arista ran over to Ariel and gave her a big hug.

I’m getting married, yelled Arista at the top of her lungs. Then she showed her the pearl ring.

Oh Arista that is great news. I love the ring, but then again I did tell Damon what you like.

The four of them then shared hugs and handshakes while Arista told Ariel everything that had happened.

Well looks like we will finally be brothers Eric.

I guess we will be, I am happy for you Damon.

You know, its not every day you steal the heart of the most beautiful mermaid in the sea said Damon.

She may be the most beautiful mermaid in the sea but I have the most beautiful mermaid on land.

Eric looked over to Ariel and winked.
