JOURNEY TO ATLANTICA

Chapter 1
A Decision Made

 

It was a beautiful day in the kingdom of King Eric Queen Ariel and Princess Melody. The sun was shining bright and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Inside the castle were servants rushing around doing there daily chores.

In the royal bedchambers of Eric and Ariel the day was just beginning and Ariel was at the vanity brushing her long beautiful red hair.

Eric, said Ariel.

Yes Ariel dear answered Eric.

I was wondering if it's alright with you could we spend the summer in Atlantica.

I wondered when you would ask me that Ariel. Of course we can.

I think it's time for me to do something for you, after all you gave up everything you ever knew to go to a whole new world just for me.

Oh Eric, I'm so glad you see it like that.

Well of course I see it like that, and I have always wanted to go visit Atlantica.

After all I have never cordially been able to spend time with your father or sisters.

Eric, you have no idea how much this means to me, there are so many times I have missed my sisters and wanted to go visit them.

Sure thing we can leave first thing tomorrow morning, do you think that will give you enough time to contact your father.

Of course, I'll just use the special mirror he gave me to talk to him.

Oh and Eric, don't tell Melody about this I want it to be a surprise.

Sure thing Ariel.

The next person to get up that morning was Melody. She jumped up out of bed, went to the window and looked out her balcony at the beauty of the sea.

This will be a perfect morning for a swim she thought to herself.

Just as she was thinking that she heard a voice yell up to her.

Hey Melody, come down and swim with us. It was her best friend Jeremy and her cousin Crysta the daughter of Aquata.

Sure thing, I'll be right down, yelled Melody.

After a quick change and a bite to eat Melody reached the beach where Melody and Crysta swam in a short five minutes.

Hey there, said Melody to her two friends as she did a huge cannon ball and totally soaked them.

Jeremy and Crysta both looked at each other and said hey yourself to Melody followed by a big smak with their tails forcing Melody into the air and landing flat on her

Butt on the hard sand of the sea shore.

Hey that's not fair, yelled Melody.

How is a human like me supposed to defend myself against two merpeople like you if I don't have a tail?

Gee, I don't know answered Jeremy.

Why don't you get one then, said Jeremy.

You know what Crysta that's about the smartest thing I've heard you say all day.

After a couple hours of fun the friends said goodbye and Crysta and Jeremy swam home to Atlantica, Leaving Melody all alone on the beach.

Melody quietly thought to herself, "maybe I should become a mermaid again."

Meanwhile back in the palace Ariel was up in her room getting ready to call her dad.

She carefully went up to where she kept the mirror and brought it down.

The mirror had been a wedding present from King Triton to Ariel and Eric so that they could get hold of him whenever they needed to. All the members of the royal family had them.

Ariel carefully held the mirror and Spoke into it, "King Triton ruler of Atlantica and Commander of all the oceans."

Soon after she spoke the face of King Triton appeared in the mirror.

Hello Daddy, said Ariel.

Ariel what a present surprise. How are you and Eric and Melody doing?

Were all great daddies, in fact that is what I wanted to talk to you about. Eric and I have discussed it and we want to visit Atlantica for the summer.

Oh Ariel, that's great, we have all missed you so much. Wait till I tell Arista, she will be so thrilled. She has missed you more than anyone since you left.

I've missed you all to daddy.

Can you meet us tomorrow morning at sunrise?

Sure thing Ariel, I'll be looking forward to it.

Me too Daddy, Me too.
