Chapter 3
The transformation

When Melody woke up the next morning the sun was not up yet. She rushed over to her dresser put on her clothes and bolted for the door.

She ran downstairs to the kitchen to get some breaks fest.

Carlotta was already up and making Melody's favorite breakfast.

Morning Carlotta, said Melody.

Good morning princess Melody would you like some chocolate chip pancakes.

You have to ask Carlotta?

You know they are my favorite food in the entire world.

Just as Carlotta put the pancakes in front of Melody Ariel and Eric walked in.

Mom, yelled Melody

I am so excited about today, and look Carlotta made my favorite, chocolate chip pancakes.

Yes, I can see that answered Melody.

She gave Carlotta a you shouldn't have done that look and said, "Carlotta you spoil her too much.

Carlotta retorted, "There is nothing wrong with a little sugar now and again. She looked at Melody and they both winked at each other.

Um hum, more now than again.

Just as Eric, Ariel, and Melody finished their excellent meal of Blue berry muffins, orange juice and chocolate chip pancakes Grimsby came in.

Eric, King Triton has arrived and is waiting for your royal highnesses in the front of the palace.

Very good Grim, we will be right out.

Well what are we waiting for, are we just going to sit here and wait for fins to grow themselves? Said an eager and excited Melody.

As they all walked outside to meet King Triton, they all saw the magnificent view of the sun coming up out of it slumber and rising up to reveal the beautiful myriad as old as time, the sea.

Ariel was the first to approach King Triton.

Hello Daddy, said Ariel as they embraced each other in a warm loving hug.

It is so good to see you Ariel responded King Triton.

Next was Melody, Grandfather she yelled as she ran into his arms. It's so good to see you again.

It's good to see you too Melody answered Triton.

Last was Eric, he bowed deeply to Triton as did Triton and they hugged.

It's good to see you dad said Eric.

As are you Eric retorted Triton.

After the greetings Triton asked is everyone ready.

You bet, as I'll ever be, never been more in my entire life said Ariel, Eric, and Melody (in that order).

With that said King Triton raised his Trident and a yellow glowing beam came out of the end.

As this happened the three of them were lifted weightlessly into the air and magically grew tails and seashell bras (all except Eric).

After eight years of knowing of her mermaid heritage Melody finally felt comfortable with wearing a seashell bra.
