JOURNEY TO ATLANTICA

Chapter 4
A Family Reunion

It didn't take but ten minutes to reach the edge of Atlantica. As the party of mermen and mermaids reached the edge of the city the city glowed with a brilliance as bright as the sun itself. The panoramic views of all the different kinds of sea life swimming before them. It would make even Neptune himself speechless.

Well Eric, this is it, this is where I grew up Ariel said to Eric.

It is so amazing; it's like nothing I have ever seen in my whole life.

I know it is beautiful, I almost forgot how beautiful.

On the way to the Palace Ariel was greeted by old friends like Pearl, and Urchin.

Once at the Palace they went inside to the thrown room to see all of Ariel's family.

Arista was the first to approach Ariel.

As they entered the palace Arista came swimming up to Ariel all the while with the biggest smile on her face.

Ariel, it's so good to see you.

It's good to see you too Arista.

You'll never believe it; I'm going to have twins.

Oh Arista, I'm so happy for you.

After Arista, Ariel hugged Aquata, Alana, Adriana, Adella, Attina, all her nieces and nephews, and brother in laws.

Once the big family reunion was over they all went inside and got settled.

King Triton came inside the little apartment where Ariel, Eric, and Melody were staying and said, " Dinner will be in two hours were going to have a big feast in the grand hall in your honor.

Oh Daddy, you didn't need to do that for us.

I know Ariel but it's not everyday your daughter turns back into a mermaid to come visit you.

Ariel gave her dad a look of oh daddy I love you so much.

Oh and before I forget Melody before I forget I invited Jeremy to dinner as well.

Thank you grandfather.

You are most certainly welcome.

He went over and gave all three of them a huge hug and said, "it's so good to be here."

All three of them replied it's good to be here.

That night after Eric was given a grand tour of the palace, the three of them went to dinner.

When they arrived Melody approached Crysta and Jeremy.

As she went in to hug them she suddenly whipped around and gave them both a big whack with her shiny red tail.

Hey, yelled Crysta and Jeremy in unison.

I see you took my advice and got yourself a tail said Jeremy.

Yes I did, and it seemed I started a trend she pointed to her parents.

So how do you like being whacked with a tail?

I don't like it at all that really hurt said Crysta and Jeremy.

Maybe you will remember that the next time you decide to gang up on a child of land and sea.

Yeah we will said Jeremy.

The three friends hugged and sat down.

At the dinner table were Ariel's sisters sitting next to their husbands and children, Jeremy sat next to Melody who sat next to Eric, who sat next to Ariel, who sat next to King Triton.

So Ariel what do you have planned for tomorrow? Asked King Triton.

Well I thought I would take Eric on a tour of Atlantica tomorrow since it will be his second day being a merman and he did that for me on my second day of being a human.

What about it sir would you like a tour of my kingdom tomorrow.

Eric smiled and simply nodded his head yes.

Ariel and Eric laughed and then kissed.

Everyone looked at the two lovers and smiled.

Melody didn't know what was so funny and asked why they were laughing.

Eric answered the question by saying because when your mother was first turned into a human she didn't have her voice to speak so when I asked her if she wanted a tour of my kingdom all she could do was nod her head yes, so now even though I can speak I still nodded my head.

After dinner the table was cleared and people started visiting.

Eric how did you feel when Ariel sang to you that day on the beach? Asked Adella

Well, when she sang it was almost like an angel had come from heaven and saved me, I almost thought it wasn't real that I was imagining it all. Then I saw her face and I knew she was real. I knew I had to find her and marry her, and I did. He turned to Ariel and kissed him like he had that day on the beach.

Oh that is so sweet said Adella, and Alana.

Eric, you would never believe some of the things Ariel did when she was a teenager said Aquata.

Ariel do you remember the time you hid that killer whale in your room for a whole three months, even though most all of Atlantica are scared of them.

Or the time we went on vacation to the North Pole and you took daddies trident and freed all the dinosaurs.

Yeah, I know, I was a pretty crazy teenager answered Ariel.

Oh Ariel do you remember the time we had to protect the palace from those crocodile crooks asked Arista.

How could I forget about that said Ariel?

Arista looked at Eric and started the story.

Ariel and I had been beached (or grounded as humans call it) for fighting again so we couldn't go to the carnival.

Then we saw the gators and had to booby trap the palace.

We used tons of stuff like an octopus for a trampoline and other things.

We even used a cannon ball from a sunken ship that Ariel had found.

Back then if we had been caught at a place like that we would have gotten in so much trouble.

We had great fun doing it and we caught the gators.

In the end we were able to go to the carnival.

Oh that was a fun day wasn't it Ariel? Said Arista.

Yeah it was said Ariel.

Well we better get to bed we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow.

Ariel, Eric, and Melody, all hugged their friends and went to bed.
