Peter & Wendy is a 2015 British ITV adaptation of J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, and is at the core a straightforward retelling of the book, but with a few neat little twists around it. The frame story is set in the modern day, and features a girl named Lucy Rose getting hospitalized in the children's ward of the Great Ormond Street Hospital for a potentially life-saving surgery. While she's there, Lucy reads the Peter Pan book to other patients. Various people that Lucy knows in real life reappear as characters in her storytelling, and various parts of the story resonate with Lucy's owns fears and hopes.
As with most adapations of Peter Pan, mermaids have a brief appearance here when Lucy goes for a swim, and the story bleeds over to Wendy almost being drowned by the mermaids before being pulled up to safety by Pan. It's a brief sequence and dramatically dark, so it's a little hard to see the mermaids as they swim around Wendy.
