The Banana Boat song is a traditional folk song from the Caribbean. It is a
Jamaican song but first recording was Trinidadian. It is a song from the
dock workers about their nighttime shift hauling banana crates onto ships.
Samuel E. Wright alters the lyrics to make it fit more with the album.
Sebastian:
Day-o
Day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come shining on my home
Day
Me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come shining on my home
Come, Mister tally man, tally me banana
C’mon Ariel, you sing with me!
Come, Mister tally man
Sebastian & Ariel:
Tally me banana
Sebastian:
Hahahaha, that’s it.
A beautiful bunch of ripe banana

Daylight come shining on my home

Hide the deadly black tarantula

Oh, is that like a sea spider?
Sebastian:

Day
Me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day
