The Banana Boat song is a traditional folk song from the Caribbean. It is a Jamaican song but first recording was Trinidadian. It is a song from the dock workers about their nighttime shift hauling banana crates onto ships. Samuel E. Wright alters the lyrics to make it fit more with the album.

Sebastian:
Day-o
Day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come shining on my home

Day
Me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come shining on my home

Come, Mister tally man, tally me banana

C’mon Ariel, you sing with me!
Come, Mister tally man

Sebastian & Ariel:
Tally me banana

Sebastian:
Hahahaha, that’s it.
A beautiful bunch of ripe banana

Sebastian & Ariel:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:
Hide the deadly black tarantula

Ariel:
Oh, is that like a sea spider?

Sebastian:
Day
Me say day-ay-ay-o

Sebastian & Ariel:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:
Day
Me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Oh, come, Mister tally man, tally me banana

Ariel & Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:
Everybody sing along!
Come on, Mister tally man

Sebastian & Ariel:
Tally me banana

Sebastian, Ariel & Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:
Day-o
Day-ay-ay-o

Sebastian, Ariel & Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:

Day
Me say day-ay-ay-o

Sebastian, Ariel & Chorus:

Sebastian:
Six o’clock, seven o’clock, eight o’clock, get up

Ariel & Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:
A handsome fruit juice and ripe banana

Sebastian, Ariel & Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Ariel:
Hmm, that sounds good.

Sebastian:
Pineapple, mango juice, plum and cassava

Ariel:

Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:
They’re all good man, come on.
Day, me say day-ay-ay-o

Sebastian, Ariel & Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:

Sebastian:
That’s it, keep it up, I’m going back to Jamaica.

Ariel & Chorus:
Daylight come shining on my home

Sebastian:

Daylight come shining on my home
