I love like this song because of its dramatic instrumentals (and of course, Jodi Benson's as-always perfect performance). However, though all the songs in the series have to be short so the episode's story can fit the run time, I still wish that they could go on longer. This song was sung by Ariel to Stormy the seahorse as she expresses her mirroring need to be free. The episode it appeared in was "Stormy", and the song can also be found in the the "Splash Hits" album.
He never hears me
Although he has ears he
Refuses to understand
He nearly sees me
He doesn't believe he
Can let me be who I am
What am I to do?
There's so much of me in you
He may tie the ropes
But he can't hold our hopes
That someday
We'll break away
And we'll ride, you and me
To the edge of the edge of the sea
To be free from his undertow
But how I don't know
Stormy, be quiet
Come on, let's try it
So many worlds to explore
I don't have a plan
You'll just have to trust my hand
He may be wise
But we still can surprise him
Someday
We'll break away
And we'll ride, you and me
To the edge of the edge of the sea
To be free from his undertow
I can't wait to know, let's go!
